Tax Information For Monongahela residents, Real Estate and Per Capita Tax is paid to both the City of Monongahela, and to the Ringgold School District. For explanatory purposes, the taxes on this page are broken down into the "City of Monongahela" taxes, and the "Ringgold School District" taxes.
City of Monongahela
Tax bills are sent out in March. They may be paid at the 2% discount rate from March through April 30th. They may be paid at the face rate from May 1st through June 30th. The 10% penalty rate is due if taxes are paid from July 1st through December 31st.
The installment option is available to everyone. Installment due dates are April 1, May 15, and June 30.
Send a self-addressed stamped envelope and include all copies of your bill when requesting a receipt. The address is City Treasurer's Office, 449 West Main Street, Monongahela, PA 15063.
The Per Capita Tax rate is $10.00 (ten dollars). If you own your own home, the Per Capita Tax is added onto your real estate tax bill. If you rent, or reside with someone in Monongahela, you will be sent a Per Capita Tax bill.
The Real Estate Tax rate for 2020 is 7 mils. The penalty is 10%. All Real Estate Tax bills not paid by December 31st will result in a lien being placed upon the property within the Washington County Tax Claim Bureau. You must contact them to make arrangements to pay any unpaid Real Estate Tax bills.
You must contact the City's Assessor's Office to have a name changed, added, or removed from your tax bill.
Property tax bills must have a deed changed to add or remove owner! Real Estate tax and Per Capita taxes require forms to make changes. Forms are available here for address changes. Please to send one copy to Washington County and one copy to the City.

Ringgold School District - 2017
Tax bills are sent out in August. They may be paid at the 2% discount rate from August 15th through October 15th. They may be paid at the face rate from October 16th through December 15th. The 5% penalty rate is due from December 16th through December 31st.
A credit card transaction fee of 2.45% with a minimum of $1.50 will be added to each tax payment using a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card.
The Per Capita Tax rate is $10.00 (ten dollars). If you own your own home, the per capita tax is added onto your real estate tax bill. If you rent or reside with someone in Monongahela, you will be sent a Per Capita Tax bill.
The Real Estate Tax rate is 13.7205 mils. The Homestead Exemption Discount is $175.50.
